Our client is a growing real estate investment and operations organization. The team is expanding and offers exposure to multiple areas of the business including accounting, asset management, and acquisitions.
Job Description:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities for a diversified real estate portfolio. This role works closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and timely reporting across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and reporting packages
- Assist with audit preparation by gathering required documentation and responding to auditor requests
- Partner with internal teams on financial analysis, reporting needs, and special projects as assigned
- Work with external tax advisors to provide supporting schedules and financial data for filings
- Review and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with year-end reporting requirements, including data compilation for regulatory and internal reporting needs
- Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- CPA certification or CPA track preferred
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property accounting, or investment environments
- Experience in healthcare real estate, REITs, or commercial real estate strongly preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Yardi or similar property/accounting systems preferred
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and cross-functional
- Exposure to a growing portfolio with varied asset types
