We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk I to join our finance team. In this role, you will perform a variety of general accounting duties while following established accounting and office procedures in a fast-paced, automated accounting environment. Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying inventory receipt and cost data for accuracy, maintaining standard cost files, processing and scanning weekly bank deposits, updating manual deposit allocations, and preparing and posting journal entries.
The ideal candidate is accurate, dependable, and committed to maintaining the integrity of financial records while supporting day-to-day accounting operations.
How you will contribute:
- Perform accounting activities related to inventory transactions, including reviewing, approving, and posting daily bulk receipts.
- Maintain and update standard cost files by entering new and revised cost sheet information into Excel-based tracking systems.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute recurring monthly reports, as well as ad hoc reports and special request reports.
- Download and maintain corporate credit card statements and related documentation.
- Compile, record, and maintain manual deposit reports to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Refresh, update, and distribute financial statement workbooks in Excel.
- Prepare and maintain headcount reports and other management reporting as assigned.
- Oversee daily accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper general ledger posting.
- Research, identify, and resolve discrepancies independently while maintaining accurate financial records.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding items to ensure account accuracy.
- Provide administrative and departmental support, including filing, mail sorting and distribution, report distribution, and scanning checks and other financial documents.
- Assist with miscellaneous accounting and clerical duties as needed to support departmental operations.
What you will bring and skills that excite us

- High school diploma required.
- Minimum of two years of related experience, preferably in an accounting, finance, or office environment.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel skills
- Experience with data entry and database applications.
- Familiarity with computerized accounting systems and PC-based business environments.
- Accurate and efficient 10-key data entry skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accuracy while handling high volumes of data and transactions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in financial records.
