Do you love helping people and have a passion for technology?
We are looking for two customer-focused, self-motivated, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Digital Services Department! In this role, you will be a friendly and knowledgeable presence in our technology area, offering hands-on support to patrons and ensuring a welcoming, helpful experience for everyone. You will also assist with troubleshooting equipment throughout the library, and help plan and lead engaging technology and maker programs.
- Provide excellent customer service while staffing the Tech Desk and Maker Space
- Offer clear guidance to patrons using public computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and wireless printing from mobile devices
- Assist patrons and staff with questions about technology and online resources
- Plan and deliver engaging programs and/or training sessions for a wide range of audiences
- Help patrons use tools in our Digital Media Lab for recording, editing, and digitizing projects
- Provide assistance setting up, taking down, and troubleshooting equipment in our Maker Space
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, service-driven environment
- Adaptability, excellent organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Interest in and knowledge of emerging technologies, especially apps and mobile technology
- Calm and patient approach to troubleshooting and teaching technology
- A passion for learning and sharing technology skills in an accessible, approachable way
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are bilingual in English and proficient in Arabic, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish, or any of the other 30+ languages spoken by the patrons we are happy to serve.

Position A:
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 4:30-8:30pm; every other Sunday 12-5pm (14.5 hours/week)
Position B:
Tuesday and Friday 9am-1pm;
Saturday 1-5pm; every other Sunday 12-5pm (14.5 hours/week)
