- Lead the response to customer-reported issues, ensuring swift containment and clear communication.
- Coordinate certification activities, sorting, and verification processes to prevent recurrence.
- Manage customer complaint data, organize action plans, and maintain documentation with high accuracy.
- Use structured methodologies—Fishbone, 5-Why, Is/Is Not, DMAIC—to uncover true root cause.
- Analyze dimensional, tooling, and inspection data to understand defect patterns.
- Conduct tests and experiments to validate hypotheses and confirm corrective actions.
- Partner with suppliers to investigate issues traced to external processes.
- Initiate and lead supplier corrective action processes, including onsite visits as needed.
- Collaborate with supplier teams on containment, corrective actions, and control improvements.
- Update PFMEA, control plans, and related documentation based on findings.
- Define and implement process controls that proactively detect variation or drift.
- Support production teams to execute improvements quickly and effectively.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- 4+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with IATF 16949 requirements and quality frameworks.
- Background in supplier quality, customer quality, and issue containment.
- Experience in steel manufacturing or a similar heavy industrial setting.
- Strong data-driven approach with the ability to interpret complex dimensional and process data.
- Proficiency with quality tools such as PFMEA, control plans, Fishbone, 5-Why, and basic statistical analysis (Minitab preferred).
- Experience supporting automotive customers, with an understanding of cost/urgency impact.
- Familiarity with cold-forming, heat treatment, plating, or fastener manufacturing processes.
- Occasional travel (~10%) to customer and supplier locations.
$100,000 - $110,000
