Job PurposeThe Maintenance Manager at JOHNS BYRNE CO is responsible for overseeing and managing all maintenance operations within the facility. This role ensures that equipment and machinery are maintained to the highest standards to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of skilled technicians and collaborate with other departments to support the company's production goals and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy to ensure all machinery and equipment are operating efficiently and safely.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment failures and extend the lifespan of machinery.
- Coordinate and supervise repair activities, ensuring timely and effective resolution of maintenance issues.
- Manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the production and operations teams to prioritize maintenance activities that align with production schedules and goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to maintenance processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and inventory of spare parts.
- Liaise with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services and equipment procurement.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
Required Experience- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of managing maintenance teams and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of equipment and facilities.
- Experience in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards applicable to manufacturing facilities.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources efficiently.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
