Job Overview
Woodward is looking for a Machinist II to operate CNC machines on the 3rd shift (10:00pm – 6:30am), performing moderate physical activity and maintaining quality standards in the production of energy control solutions.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate one or more of the following machines: CNC Swiss, CNC Mill/Turn Machines, Gear Hobbing.
- Complete paperwork while adhering to record retention requirements.
- Document nonconforming material according to procedures, and participate in root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Use work instructions, set‑up sheets and method documents to correctly operate machines and inspect machined parts.
- Apply various gauging equipment to ensure conformance to engineering specifications and standards throughout the production run.
- Obtain certifications as required for specific processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–5 years of related machining experience.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply inspection techniques, including formalized inspection standards and best practices.
- Proficiency in reading and using micrometers, functional and cylindrical gauges, comparators, indicator setups, calibration stickers and scales.
- Intermediate skill in reading, interpreting and using information presented in drawings, diagrams and blueprints to plan tasks and select tools.
- Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (perpendicularity, parallelism, flatness) and ability to interpret tolerances on prints, datum structures, material‑condition tolerances and orientation tolerances.
- Knowledge of CNC programming/machining, with ability to read, understand and edit basic programs, and basic familiarity with grinding, turning, milling or drilling.
- Understanding of machine and equipment functionality and how tools are used on such equipment; ability to learn new systems quickly and grasp how parts relate to system functionality.
- Experience in process optimization or the ability to identify opportunities to improve current production processes and implement necessary improvements.
- Ability to define, diagnose and resolve problems, procure and apply new knowledge, and integrate knowledge of current resources and constraints, priorities and manufacturing processes.

Benefits- Estimated annual base pay: $17.15 – $33.28 per hour.

Hours:
10:00pm – 6:30am. - Cash bonus opportunity: 15% shift differential plus overtime.
