Overview
Woodward is a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and service of energy conversion and control solutions. The company is seeking experienced machinists for a 1st Shift (6:00am‑2:30pm) position with competitive hourly pay ranging from $16.49 to $33.28, based on experience and skill level.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC lathe, CNC mill/turn, and CNC OD/ machines.
- Complete required paperwork and adhere to record‑keeping retention requirements.
- Document nonconforming material, follow procedure, and participate in root‑cause and corrective‑action activities.
- Use work instructions, set‑up sheets, and method documents to correctly operate machines and inspect machined parts.
- Utilize gauging equipment to ensure conformance to engineering specifications and standards throughout the production run.
- Obtain certifications for required processes as necessary.
- High school diploma required.
- 0–2 years of related machining experience or an applicable degree.
- General knowledge of machine and equipment functionality.
- Ability to read, understand, and edit basic CNC programs.
- Basic skills in grinding, turning, milling, or drilling.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–5 years of related machining experience.
- Knowledge of inspection techniques and the ability to use micrometers, gauges, comparators, and other inspection tools.
- Intermediate ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, and blueprints for production planning.
- Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT) such as perpendicularity, parallelism, flatness, datum structures, material condition tolerances, and orientation tolerances.
- Ability to read, understand, edit basic CNC programs and possess basic skills in grinding, turning, milling, or drilling.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Capability to diagnose, define, and resolve production problems.
- Hourly pay ranging from $16.49 to $33.28, with possibility to level up.
