Scope of Work
The RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process to provide professional nursing care for patients in the Women Infant Services Unit OB Postpartum Nursery at Lakeland Hospital, Niles.
Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients according to Corewell Health policies, partnering with patient and family in care planning, documenting education, and participating in continuous quality improvement.
Responsibilities- Assess and plan care for postpartum and neonatal patients.
- Implement nursing interventions, including monitoring and documentation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and family.
- Document patient education and teaching strategies.
- Maintain quality patient care under direction of the Nurse Leader.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- RN license in the State of Michigan.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 90 days.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C‑EFM) within 1½ years.
- Birthplace certification within 1½ years.
- NCLEX passed.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) in Labor and Delivery within 2 years.
- Two years of acute care experience or one year of licensed health care if graduate from a non‑accredited school.

Part‑time. Shift: Day. Weekly scheduled hours: 24hours from 7:00a.m. to 7:30p.m. Days worked:
Variable, every third weekend.
