Quality Assurance Technician
Surestaff is immediately hiring for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician for a company in Niles, IL. A successful Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for ensuring that products, materials, and processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. In addition will conduct inspections, perform testing, document findings, and work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members!
All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($17-$17.50/hr.) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire.

Responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician:
- Assists the QA Manager with completing daily food safety and quality activities
- Verifies HACCP records and critical control points and perform plant GMP and sanitation audits.
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections of production areas
- Assist in performing ATP testing after cleaning on product contact surfaces
- Assist in performing peanut allergen and milk allergen testing on product contact surfaces
- Assist in performing environmental swabbing and other microbiological analysis
- Perform finished product weight checks hourly
- Assist in entering daily entering of production results in computer
- Maintains food safety and quality files
- Perform weekly calibration of scales
- Perform quality tests and measurements using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
- Authority to stop the line for any Food Safety or Quality issues / concerns
Required Qualifications of the Quality Control Technician:
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate degree in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred. - Previous experience in quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing, or a related environment preferred.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, or other industry-specific standards.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
