Job Purpose:

- The Maintenance Technician at JOHNS BYRNE CO is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of machinery and equipment within the facility. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing repairs to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure their optimal performance.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and perform timely repairs to minimize production disruptions.
- Collaborate with the production team to understand equipment needs and address any operational concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and tools, and coordinate with procurement for replenishment.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and other staff members.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and equipment reliability.

Required

Education:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or a related field is preferred.

Required Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in preventive maintenance and equipment diagnostics.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in an industrial setting.

Required

Skills and Abilities:

- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as required.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and maintenance record-keeping.
