Penco is seeking a Generator Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and routine service on residential standby generators and transfer switch systems. This role is responsible for completing scheduled maintenance, conducting system inspections, performing basic diagnostics, and helping ensure customers' backup power systems are ready when needed most. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys working independently, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Previous generator experience is not required, and there will be robust training and growth opportunities for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn. Must be comfortable using company software and technology.

• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on residential standby generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug replacement, battery testing, and general system inspections.
• Conduct troubleshooting and basic diagnostics on generator mechanical and electrical systems to identify performance issues and recommend solutions.
• Perform minor repairs and component replacements to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably.
• Use a company-provided iPad and field-service software to document each job, including findings, work performed, and parts or materials used.

• Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, solution-oriented mindset.
• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn generator systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
• Experience with or the ability to learn:
• Small engine maintenance and repair
• Basic electrical troubleshooting
• Preventative maintenance procedures
• Hand and power tool usage
• Ability to work independently while managing a daily service route.
• Comfort using iPads, mobile applications, and company software to complete job documentation.
• Valid driver's license
