Position Overview

Woodward is hiring 1st shift Stock handlers to support our Niles site. The role involves order picking and kitting parts and components that will be supplied to the production floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order Fulfillment:
    Picks material from racks, trays and shelves, and prepares them for assembly, sub-assembly, spare part orders or other subsequent processes.
  • Inventory Management:
    Maintain and update accurate records of stock levels, monitoring for discrepancies and reporting them as necessary. Daily inventory counts to maintain cycle counts.
  • Receiving Shipments:
    Unload and inspect incoming stock to ensure all items are accurate and undamaged upon arrival.
  • Stock Replenishment:
    Restock shelves and displays promptly to maintain product availability and ensure the production is well supplied.
  • Maintain Inventory Integrity and Traceability:
    Attach identifying tags or labels to stock or mark information on containers.

  • Safety Awareness:
    Adherence to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Basic Computer and Inventory

    Skills:

    Proficiency in reading, writing, math and computer skills using inventory management software and other relevant computer applications for tracking stock.
  • Teamwork:
    Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth operations and achieve common goals.
  • Customer Service Orientation:
    Provide assistance and information to customers regarding product availability and location when required.
  • Attention to Detail:
    Precision in handling products per handling code and data to minimize errors in stock handling and recordkeeping.
  • Physical Stamina:
    Capability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and stocking merchandise throughout the shift.
  • Problem Solving:
    Address and resolve issues related to stock discrepancies, damaged goods, or supply chain interruptions.
  • Time Management:
    Effectively prioritize tasks to maintain workflow and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
Eligibility & Compliance

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of the ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Benefits & Compensation
  • Estimated hourly base pay: $17.31 (minimum) – $22.60 (midpoint) – $27.88 (maximum)
  • Plus overtime
  • Annual cash bonus opportunity – up to 4.5%
  • 401(k) match plus another 5% in Woodward stock options contributed to members’ 401(k) accounts annually, bringing the retirement benefit opportunity to 9.5%
