CUSTODIAN

The role focuses on maintaining an attractive, sanitary, and safe facility for students, staff, and the public; arranging equipment and furniture for meetings, classroom activities, and events; and minimizing property damage, loss, and liability exposure.

This position reports to the HEAD CUSTODIAN.

• Cleans assigned school facilities using tools such as mop, buffer, and scrubber (classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, pools, grounds).
• Maintains supplies and equipment (cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuum, mops, buffer, scrubber) to ensure availability for proper facility maintenance.
• Prepares facility for daily operations (opening gates, building access doors, disarming security systems, raising flag, crosswalk signs, minor repairs, assisting presenters).
• Responds to immediate safety and operational concerns (facility damage, injured or ill students, alarms) to resolve safety issues and maintain a functioning educational environment.
• Secures facilities and grounds to minimize property damage, equipment loss, and potential liability.

• Arranges furnishings and equipment for meetings, presentations, and events.
• Attends in-service training on topics such as blood borne pathogens, cleaning solvents, floor care, and first aid.
• Delivers supplies, mail, packages, and furniture to appropriate parties.
• Evaluates situations involving staff, students, parents, or the public and directs to appropriate personnel.
• Inspects school facilities to ensure safety, attractiveness, cleanliness, and identifies needed repairs.
• Repairs furniture and equipment to maintain safe working condition.

Less than high school.

Arizona Driver’s License, evidence of insurability (none specified).

Clean Motor Vehicle Record;

$16.74 to $16.74 per hour.
