SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, develops and assists in the implementation and monitoring of facility support services and activities to our centers in the metro Atlanta area.

The Maintenance Specialist carries out the programs and policies authorized by the Head Start Performance Standards, Policy Council, and manages the maintenance of the facilities and transportation vehicles in ahands-on capacity under guidance of Director of Facilities. The workday is typically spent performing anyneeded maintenance duties at the various Easterseals locations including repairs/installation of theequipment and or systems and other physical tasks that are required.

Other duties may include overseeingcontractual work and completing needed documentation paperwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

Performs general repairs and services in all maintenance related disciplines, including but not limited tolight repairs, light electrical, furniture assembly or build, carpentry, and assisting in the diagnosis and repairin electrical and mechanical installations, plant and equipment.

Plumbing Repair /Maintenance - Replace commodes, replace/install faucets and sinks as needed, perform 1/2” & 3/4”electric auger for opening and maintaining drains pipes.

Maintain HVAC, filters, fans, etc.

Perform routine minor landscaping on the grounds (Perform blowing and cleaning roof and playground)
Replace ceiling tiles, minor sheet rock work, etc.

Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)Repair and monitor equipment, appliances, and fence repair.

Supervise cleaning work performed by outsourced cleaning companies, general cleaning, window cleaning,kitchen cleaning, and report any irregularities

Available to work on emergency calls such as snow removal, flood, fire watch.

Develops, posts and maintains evacuation plans as required by the agency.

Conducts weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed center reviews with the submission of a written reportcontaining findings to the Director of Facilities or other personnel as identified, and generates acorrective plan if warranted.

Maintains documentation of reports submitted throughout the program year.

Provide onsite assistance to Center Managers, Family Support Advocates, parents and teachingstaff as it relates to facility and transportation activities.

Ensures that all vehicles and facilities are maintained safely contributing to a safe environment.

Prepare Daily schedule of work for the following day, and submit a copy to Director of Facilities Daily prepare the accountability sheet and submit to the Director of Facilities.

Perform repairs and assembly of equipment, replacement of electrical/mechanical equipment and devices, minor painting and housekeeping and other services as required by Centers and Director of Facilities.

Perform inspection on contractor completed work and report findings to the Director of Facilities.

Perform required Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semiannual and annual Preventive maintenance as directed by Director of Facilities.

Other duties as assigned or requested by the supervisor.
