Position: MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC SUPERVISOR with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates.
* You will coordinate work of unit with other units that may be involved.

* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
* You will be required to perform duties at a variety of job sites within the commuting area. Travel may be on short notice for extended periods of time, and use of privately owned vehicle IAW JTR Volume II may be required. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE - Basic mechanical aptitude with some working knowledge of general maritime Main Propulsion Diesel Engine and Ship's Service Diesel Generators.

- Basic working knowledge of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual as it applies to Maintenance Procedures (MP) Formal Work Packages (FWP) and Controlled Work Packages (CWP).

- Determining sequence, priorities, and deadlines of scheduled assignments.

- Planning most efficient use of equipment, material, and manpower in terms of workload and completion dates.

- Redirecting individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. (e.g., work resulting from "open and inspect" types of work orders).

- Repairing a variety of marine machinery and equipment including Diesel Engines and Diesel Generators along with associated equipment aboard US Naval ships.
