Job Description – Aircraft Maintenance Technician, V-22 – Naval Station Norfolk, VA (343036)
Based on‑site at Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Virginia; this position requires the flexibility to travel to domestic and international locations to support maintenance operations, sometimes with minimal notice. This position also includes the potential for periodic development in support of the U.S. Navy’s Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) mission, with work occurring both at sea and/or ashore. Depending on business needs, extended travel may be required.
What you’ll be doing as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, V-22:- Analyze assigned tasks, identify the logistics requirements for the repairs and schedule attainable timelines for the repairs.
- Ensure the team operates in compliance with applicable safety standards, proper use of PPE and works efficiently on assigned projects.
- Perform maintenance tasks to assist Organizational‑Level and Intermediate‑Level maintenance with a specific focus on CMV deployments.
- Provide Organizational and Intermediate level maintenance support services at the customer’s locations as well as conduct heavy maintenance tasks on aircraft structures, systems, and sub‑systems.
- Evaluate damage and perform repairs on electrical and mechanical components, structural and composite materials.
- Ensure work performed meets Bell’s expectations for the highest levels of safety and quality, and in accordance with approved technical publications.
- Maintain a positive rapport with the military/government customer and work alongside military maintainers when required.
- Provide weekly accurate status reports of current projects.
- Follow tasking from CMV‑22 Detachment Leads, Aviation Maintenance Officers, and Detachment Maintenance Officer or OIC (Officer in Charge).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience performing heavy maintenance on aircraft. Military aircraft/rotorcraft experience preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) secret security clearance. Current & active DoD Secret Security preferred.
- Ability to perform operations/functional checks and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or mechanical systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment and have good communication and information technology skills.
- Ability to work with Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and Temporary Engineering Instructions (TEI) as well as evaluate damage using precision measuring tools (such as micrometers, depth gauges) and perform applicable repair.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally with little notice, including extended travel and/or deployment as required by business needs.
- Must meet all required Department of Defense medical, dental, and psychological screenings, including those listed in DODI 3020.41 (Enclosure
3) and, when/if applicable, ‑5902 Fitness for Duty and Medical/Dental Care Limitations.
- 80 hours of Personal Time Off (PTO)

- 12‑13 paid holidays per year (based on assignment obligations)
- 6 weeks parental leave
Minimum: $79,040 per year.
Maximum: $97,760 per year.
