EMSAR is a national technical services company headquartered in Wilmington, Ohio.
Responsibilities- Provide on-site preventative maintenance, minor repairs, performance verifications, calibrations, and software/hardware upgrades on EMSAR supported equipment.
- Establish and maintain close communication with assigned customers to ensure maximum operational visibility.
- Provide advanced level of engineer support and service work.
- Ensure customer satisfaction pertaining to services provided.
- Follow quality practices specified by EMSAR and product vendor.
- Manage/completed assigned work orders in EMSAR's Computerized Management System platform, Servicemax (approximately 25% of daily duties).
- Provide accurate and timely reporting of service status and escalations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and keep tools, parts, and test equipment in order.
- Control and maintain all EMSAR assets, including tools, parts, and test equipment needed to perform complex work tasks.
- Promote teamwork and cooperation between EMSAR associates and partner staff.
- Mentor junior level field service associates (if applicable).
- Lead activities for field service operations (if assigned).
- Work regularly with dispatcher for work assignments.
- Maintain a safe work environment, follow safety instructions/training, and use appropriate safety equipment.
- Follow client quality requirements and apply appropriate quality system processes.
- Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Analytical: ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, policies and procedures.
- Technical competency: thorough understanding of maintenance and repairs of EMSAR supported equipment.
- Technical skills: proficient in use of field service tools and equipment, optimize performance, troubleshoot, and repair equipment independently.
- Advanced level technical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills: effectively communicate results that lead to positive internal/external relationships.
- Planning and organizing: prioritize and plan activities, use time efficiently, and develop realistic action plans.
- Reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Familiar with field concepts, practices, and procedures relevant to field service engineering.
- Critical thinking for engineering support problems and solutions; work independently with limited supervision.
Minimum education and experience:
- High‑school diploma or equivalent, 4–8 years technical experience, valid driver license and liability insurance, ability to drive personal, fleet or rental vehicles.
- Associate degree or trade school degree, 2+ years technical or related experience, valid driver license and liability insurance, ability to drive personal, fleet or rental vehicles.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 1+ year technical experience, valid driver license and liability insurance, ability to drive personal, fleet or rental vehicles.
- Extensive periods of sitting at a computer terminal documenting services; extensive periods of standing and walking while performing services.
- Frequent bending, squatting, and stair climbing.
- Use of both hands without restriction and manipulation of small hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 125 pounds without assistance.
- Regional day and overnight travel required.
