Salary Rate$24.74 per hour
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of full time (or part-time equivalent) building mechanical and/or building electrical work experience.
- A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful result of the pre-employment physical.
- Valid State of Illinois driver’s license.
NOTE:
Must acquire a Class A Commercial Driver’s License within first five (5) months of employment for this position. Per federal law a CDL license holder is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
- High mechanical aptitude.
- Basic knowledge of principles, materials, and methods of building construction and repair of basic mechanical devices. Prior maintenance and/or construction experience is essential.

Physical Requirements - Should have manual dexterity needed to assist in repair of small machinery. Occasional heavy physical exertion and climbing of stairs and ladders required. Incumbent must be able to climb and be comfortable at heights of 40' or more and/or depths (pits, hoist-ways, etc), be able to lift or handle 75 lbs unassisted a minimum of 2 flights of stairs and/or 300 feet.
Must be able to work both overhead (and lift weights of 60 lbs overhead for short periods of time) or on knees for extended periods of time.

Work Environment - Incumbent will encounter noise, dust, heat, cold and mud. Work is completed outside in all kinds of weather, occasionally encountering potentially hazardous materials and equipment.
