Custodian-Water Treatment Plant

Job Type: Permanent Part Time (Non-Exempt)

Shift: 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Other hours may be considered.

This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.

Knowledge: Cleaning materials, methods, and procedures.

Skills: Operating equipment used in cleaning, waxing, and stripping floors. Oral communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions: Sweeps, vacuums, mops, dusts, and steam cleans, strips, waxes, polishes and buffs floors, carpets and furniture, etc. Dumps trash, recycle containers and relines with liners. Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and replenishes supplies; cleans spills, drinking fountains, mirrors, tables, walls, fixtures, blinds, light fixtures, etc. Washes windows, walls, metal and woodwork. Some cleaning may require use of a stepstool and/or ladder.

Orders cleaning supplies and performs general maintenance duties as required.

Working Conditions:

Frequent exposure of up to 80% of work time to dirt, dust, noise, noxious fumes and odors, and extreme temperatures.

Mental and Physical Abilities: Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lb.) cleaning supplies and/or equipment. Ability to work independently. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
