Location: Norman, OK Status: Full Time Business Sector: Facilities Management and Operations
The General Laborer will perform general maintenance duties at NCED.
Duties and Responsibilities- Loads and unloads furniture and related materials onto and off trucks, ensuring the appropriate padding and ropes are used to prevent damage.
- Moves supplies and material to proper location using the appropriate equipment.
- Moves and arranges heavy pieces of office furniture, equipment, and machinery.
- Operates forklifts, mechanical lift gates, and mechanical platforms to facilitate loading and unloading materials.
- Arranges and sets up furniture, cubicles, partitions, assemble misc. office and classroom furniture including chairs.
- Performs snow removal.
- Performs general maintenance duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Pay Rate: $17.75 per hour
- Must be able to use “down-time” effectively to the benefit of the company.
- Must have a well‑mannered customer service attitude.
- Must be able to operate lawn care equipment including, but not limited to, tractor, weed eater, edger, hedge trimmer, push mower, chain saw, and ride on mower, etc.
- Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.
- Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability.
- Must be able to work as part of a team, fostering teamwork in a dynamic environment.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be willing to cross‑train in other areas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
- Must be able to work outdoors for long and varied hours, sometimes in extreme weather conditions.
- Must be capable of lifting 70 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to ascend and descend equipment, including but not limited to, ladders, scaffolds, lifts, etc.
- Must be capable of frequent bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and stooping, sometimes for long periods.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extensive periods of time.
- Must be capable of performing manual repetitive activities.
- Must have good manual dexterity.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass pre‑employment background screening
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening and periodic retests
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
