We are looking for a Die Cast Setup Technician to join the team at our Norridge, IL location. Please note, this is a full-time, 1st shift position (7am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday).
- Verify correct tool was received and visually inspect tool prior to set up
- Select program for the job
- Set and verify nozzle and pot temperature
- Connect water and/or oil lines and check for water flow and temperature
- Clean limit or proximity switches
- Check that correct alloy for the job is in the holding pot
- Clean Techmire pot
- Replace any leaky mold water hoses
- Retrieve Process Work Instruction Book, verify content and load program
- Replace nozzles
- Change or refill die lube tank
- Install proximity switches spray lines, air lines, and apply temperature set points
- Perform scheduled PM functions and complete PM log sheets
- Work closely with machine operators and Quality Department to solve process and machine related problems
- Take last shot with the mold to the Tool Room and move cast parts to next operation when necessary
- Immediately inform Shift Supervisor of any damage to the dies
- Complete all required documentation
Salary range: $26 - $28/hr.
