We are looking for a CNC Operator/Programmer to join our team at the Norridge, IL location. This is a full‑time, 1st shift position (7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday‑Friday).
Responsibilities- Program, operate and maintain CNC machines.
- Conduct planning sessions with tool‑room staff to determine project CNC machining and EDM requirements.
- Suggest best practices and efficient machining solutions during planning sessions and while building tools.
- Program cutter paths using Cimatron and Master Cam software.
- Develop written CNC programming and machining best‑practice rules.
- If a post‑processor is not performing efficiently or correctly, consult with the machine manufacturer and software provider.
- Program steel and electrodes per project requirements.
- Perform CNC machine setups.
- Oversee all aspects of CNC machine operation.
- Manage CNC cutter inventory and notify the Tool‑Room Manager when replacement tooling is needed.
- Research and recommend cutter and tooling options to improve CNC equipment efficiency.
- Arrange for outside servicing of CNC machines when necessary.
- Perform maintenance of CNC machines.
- Document CNC area best practices for sharing, use and training.
- Create check sizes to verify each cutter change in all affected axes.
- When finish‑machining a cavity and shutting off a detail on multi‑cavity tools, cut and verify sizes on one cavity before proceeding to finish all cavities.
