Night Custodian

Full Time Night Custodian

A current vacancy exists for a Full Time Night Custodian within the Norristown Area School District located at Cole Manor Elementary School.

Requirements

• Two years of FT custodial experience
• Experience with building maintenance and plumbing systems
• Able to work with little supervision
• Able to work cooperatively with others
• Good communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following:

• Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas, neat and clean at all times; perform building cleaning tasks as necessary or directed by supervisor
• Monitor heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure temperatures are appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity
• Shovel/Plow sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate; maintain overall cleanliness of grounds.
• Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and are operating properly during hours of building occupancy
• Make minor repairs; reports all major repairs to supervisor
• Maintain all mechanical equipment
• Report any damages of school property to the supervisor
• Remain on the premises during assigned hours
• Open/Close building as appropriate to shift; make sure that all doors and windows are secured, and that all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off before leaving the building at the end of assigned shift
• Arm and disarm the security system, as appropriate to shift
• Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the supervisor
• Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste
• Perform all relative duties as assigned

Hours: 2:00pm-10:00pm

Rate: $27.18/HR
