Job Title

In the context of a retirement, the Community of Communes of the Pays des Abers is recruiting full-time for a street sweeper driver (F/H) on the employment framework of technical assistants by transfer, direct recruitment, mobility or detachment, winners of competitions or portability of a permanent contract under public law. Access possible by a one-year contract for candidates recognized as disabled workers.

The candidacies of civil servants will be examined as a priority. The Community of Communes of the Pays des Abers comprises 13 municipalities and 727 linear kilometers of road infrastructure, including 124 km in the urban area and 603 km in rural areas.

Since its creation, the community of communes has provided assistance to municipalities to carry out, in particular, road maintenance and repair work, but also sweeping and cleaning of roads and public spaces. Within the environment and works department and more specifically the works and equipment service, you will ensure the driving and regular maintenance, in collaboration with the mechanics of the workshop, of the street sweeper.

You will carry out sweeping and cleaning activities of the roads and roadsides on the 13 municipalities of the country of the abers but also within the communal spaces: economic activity zones, community hotel, bus station, waste disposal sites, traveler reception areas and sewage treatment plants.

Main activities:

• Sweeping after markets
• Planning and organizing interventions taking into account priorities, execution time and possible constraints
• Performing the change of brooms when they are to be replaced
• Ensuring the maintenance of the vehicle and equipment (regular cleaning of the tank, water supply, waste disposal…), checking and ensuring the preventive maintenance of the street sweeper, identifying malfunctions and breakdowns
• Keeping a logbook and filling out activity sheets
• Cleaning, brushing, weeding by aspiration and mechanical sweeping

Associated or secondary activities:

• Participation in the reinforcement of the road service teams by driving specific machinery (tractor shovel, hydraulic shovel, tractor trailer…)
• Performing occasionally works that do not appear on the job description but that fall within its grade
