Primary Purpose

This position is accountable for the cleanliness of the center common area, which includes but is not limited to the parking lot, common sidewalks, and service bays. The role also involves emptying trash receptacles, tenant dumpsters, and operating a trash compactor.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Inspect and patrol the interior and exterior of the facility, performing custodial duties such as sweeping and wet mopping sidewalks and floors.
  • Operate steam cleaner, hand vacuum, and other cleaning equipment to maintain cleanliness of property.
  • Clean and restock restrooms, gather trash, and empty trash receptacles; operate compactor and turn trash carts.
  • Operate various janitorial equipment, including high‑reach or lift equipment, to remove debris and clean elevated surfaces.
  • Assist other departments, such as Marketing, with cleaning and patrolling during events.
  • Establish procedures to ensure scheduled cleaning of different areas of the facility is completed.
  • Maintain a professional, cooperative working relationship with management and co‑workers.
  • Perform the job in accordance with all applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., OSHA) to promote a safe working environment.
  • Maintain inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, cleaning supplies, equipment, and tools.
  • Report damaged or missing property, missing trash containers, or other problems to the supervisor.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical school certifications and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and comprehend instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, employees, tenants, and outside contacts.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect information, and establish facts.
  • Self‑starter with ability to work independently and multi‑task.
  • Knowledge of safety rules, hazards, and application of accident prevention measures.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
