Maintenance Assistant in North Canton

Hours will be 9:00am to 5:30pm with every other weekend, and every other holiday off.

• Perform routine maintenance and/or repairs of building structures and equipment; including painting, plumbing, plastering, electrical work, carpentry, mechanical, etc.
• Perform advanced maintenance and/or repairs of building structures and equipment including bed and wheelchair repairs, motor and pump changes, belt replacement, ballast replacement, switch replacement, and snake drains
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and repair procedures on building, mechanical equipment, boiler equipment, and other utility systems such as, but not limited to, cleaning coils, changing filters, cleaning ice machines.
• Inspect, clean, repair, etc. boiler systems as directed.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems as may be necessary.
• Complete daily, weekly, monthly, etc. checklists on building, equipment, utility systems, etc.
• Assemble, install and maintain equipment.
• Operate motor vehicles and transport as required.
• Perform unscheduled and/or emergency maintenance tasks as needed.
• Perform remodeling and basic construction projects as assigned.
• Diagnose mechanical problems, develop a correction plan and make any necessary recommendations for third-party contract services.
• May perform grounds maintenance duties (snow removal, mowing, trimming, etc.) as necessary.
• Assist with lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc. as requested.
• Order supplies as directed.
• Complete reports, forms, etc. as may be necessary.
• Assist other maintenance staff with responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.

Full-time

$16.20 per hour

• High school diploma, or equivalent
• Knowledge related to boilers, compressors, and generators
• Experience servicing heating and cooling units
• Must have a valid driver's license
