JOB SUMMARY:
Performs responsible skilled work in assisting in the repair and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds: does related work as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Performs general landscaping duties to include but not limited to: mowing, trimming hedges, weeding flower beds, upkeep of chiller cages, etc.
* Uses standard tools and equipment of the trades
* Operates vehicle to and from jobs
* Cleans and cares for tools and equipment
* Independently performs routine tasks in making building and mechanical repairs in accordance with instructions
* Responds to daily work orders and scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as assigned by Supervisor
* May participate in general building upkeep (painting, graffiti removal) as needed
* Performs related tasks as required
JOB SPECIFICATIONS/
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Maintenance work requires the exertion of up to 30-50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently, and a reasonable amount of force daily to move objects. There are frequent interruptions, changing priorities, heavy duty lifting, extensive walking and occasional work in inclement weather (rain, snow, sleet, hail, etc). Work may require climbing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions of hands, fingers, arms, and legs.
Work may require climbing stairs/metal grate flooring. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for use of measuring devices, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Possession of a high school diploma or GED. Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license (noncommercial); ability to maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license.
