FACILITY MAINTENANCE STAFF (CAMP KIRKWOOD)

POSITION TYPE: Hourly (non-exempt) role, hired and maintained as needed depending on preventative maintenance plan, projects, and general cleaning and repairs of property and vehicles of YMCA Camp Kirkwood.
WAGE RANGE: $12.44 - $15.55 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
POSITION SUMMARY: Identifies cleans and repairs all aspects of facility as directed by Maintenance Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Prepare a list of needed repair projects around camp.
- Ensure repairs are done safely and properly.
- Always promotes safety by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.
- Ensures all staff who assist with repairs are following proper procedures.
- Develops friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children.
- Communicates regularly with other staff members and supervisor.

- Minimum one year work experience with maintenance repairs.
- Possess all proper licensing for repair work.
- Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related repairs.
- Desire and ability to work within the camp environment.
- Track record of building relationships with staff, volunteers, and parents.
- Ability to work outside year-round.
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards
related to the activity.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear and see.
- Maintain a safe and pleasing environment for the operation of the programs offered by Camp Kirkwood.
- Maintain positive relationships with all customers and communicate effectively to diverse groups of individuals (i.e. Participants, parents, staff, alumni, vendors, contractors, etc.).
- Carry out facility maintenance and repair tasking and daily work projects as assigned.
- Carry out work tasks efficiently daily.
- All other duties as assigned.
