Maintenance Superintendent
Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent for a direct-hire opportunity in Seaboard, NC. Position Type:

Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with alternating on-call weekends Bonus: 25% Annual Performance Bonus
Summary:
This leadership position is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. The Maintenance Superintendent will lead a team of 5 direct reports and 6–7 indirect reports, drive equipment reliability, improve uptime, and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance supervisors and skilled maintenance personnel.
- Oversee the execution of maintenance work to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely completion.
- Support supervisors in troubleshooting equipment issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor preventive maintenance (PM) quality, work order completion, and equipment reliability.
- Track and manage work orders and maintenance activities through the maintenance management system.
- Partner with production leadership to maximize equipment uptime and plant productivity.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and long-range maintenance plans.
- Coordinate maintenance technician training and support ongoing employee development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to achieve safety, quality, production, and cost objectives.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, equipment vendors, and service providers.
- Provide hands-on technical support on the production floor as needed.
- Analyze maintenance data and equipment performance to identify trends and improve reliability.
- Support change management initiatives and implement best maintenance practices
- Minimum 7 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience in industries such as steel, automotive, chemical manufacturing, paper, wood products, or other heavy industrial operations.
- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs and equipment reliability principles.
- Experience in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
- Strong organizational, planning, documentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and lead change management initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement experience.
- Experience managing maintenance planning and scheduling within a manufacturing facility.
