Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Maintenance Generalist
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing hatchery infrastructure. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Perform all items on the Manufacturer's recommended preventive maintenance program.
- Change motors in incubators and hatchers, change wall receptacles, replace ends on cords, change light fixtures, wire single and three phase motors, read and understand a voltmeter and ammeter.
- Basic knowledge to repair and troubleshoot HVAC units and evap coolers.
- Troubleshoot and repair motherboard and PLC on equipment.
- Repair and replace equipment associated with offal, including macerator, pump, and motor.
- Knowledge of chillers, including temperature and pressure set points and current.
- Troubleshoot high-speed, dock, and Chase Durris doors.
- Meet all certification requirements for wearing a full face respirator.
Biosecurity/animal welfare requirements include:
- Showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility.
- Avoiding avian species and signing the Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Physical demands and work environment include:
- Performing physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Using safe lifting techniques and regularly pushing or pulling 500 lbs. and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, walking, sitting, reaching, balancing, stooping, bending, and hearing.
- Working on wet, slippery surfaces and in various environments.
- Wearing personal protective equipment and handling chemicals.
- Following safety policies and procedures.
Starting wage is $22.95/hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends.
