Maintenance GeneralistJob Description Summary
The Maintenance Generalist is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position supports production in a fresh food manufacturing environment while maintaining compliance with Tyson policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and restore operations quickly
- Complete corrective and emergency maintenance work as assigned
- Perform equipment adjustments, part replacements, and repairs tomaintainoptimalperformance
- Follow work orders and document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications
- Conduct inspections toidentifypotential equipment failures, safety hazards, or maintenance needs
- Work closely with Production and Sanitation to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Support sanitation and startup processes following maintenance work
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
- Comply withall OSHA, USDA, food safety, and Tyson policies and procedures
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and safe work practice sat all times
- Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders
- Basic computer skills and ability to use CMMS systems
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces
- Ability tolift upto
50pounds with or withoutassistance - Ability to work around moving machinery, elevated platforms, and energized equipment
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
