POSITION OVERVIEW
Bermuda Village Retirement Community is seeking a dependable and hardworking Full-Time Housekeeper to join our Housekeeping team. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environments for our residents throughout the community.
This position helps ensure resident homes, common areas, and facilities are well-maintained while providing courteous and professional service to our residents, guests, and team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Follow assigned cleaning schedules and instructions, including cleaning residential homes and public areas.
- Sweep and vacuum assigned areas.
- Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and heating/air conditioning units.
- Clean, disinfect, deodorize, and spot-clean walls and ceilings.
- Clean community showers, toilets, sinks, countertops, and baseboards.
- Restock paper towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, and other supplies as needed.
- Clean and inspect model rooms.
- Work with Maintenance to ensure incoming residents' homes are clean and ready for move-in.
- Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators as needed.
- Clean employee break areas when necessary.
- Empty trash from offices and public areas.
- Report unsafe or hazardous conditions and needed repairs to the supervisor.
- Keep housekeeping supply rooms and janitor closets clean and organized.
- Provide courteous and professional service to residents, visitors, and team members.
- Take initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work responsibly both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Dependable, flexible, and professional.
- Compassion for and desire to work with older adults.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with residents, staff, and visitors.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must meet all health and safety requirements.
- Must be able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- One year of related experience in a similar environment preferred.
- On-the-job training provided.
This position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, squatting, and repetitive use of the hands, fingers, wrists, and arms. The position also requires the ability to push, pull, and lift 25+ pounds. The Housekeeper may be exposed to cleaning products, hazardous chemicals, dust, odors, noise, fluctuating temperatures, and conditions common to a healthcare/residential setting.
