Kordsa currently has an opening for Maintenance Supervisor at our Laurel Hill, NC location. This is a fully on-site role. If you have the necessary experience and competencies outlined below, we would love to hear from you. Below is a description of responsibilities and requirements for this role:
Key Responsibilities Maintenance Leadership, Planning and Administrative (Estimated 25% of job responsibility)- Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance teams in Converting and Treating areas.
- Develop and provide cross training of maintenance teams in Converting and Treating areas.
- Assign and prioritize daily maintenance activities based on production and equipment needs.
- Manage maintenance work orders, work requests, PM and repair schedules, and priority management including making sure procedures are followed.
- Approving timesheets and monitoring attendance for Team Leaders and Technicians.
- Work with Team Leads to provide coverage for technicians when needed.
- Drive continuous improvement environment with maintenance teams.
- Source needed parts and supplies for maintenance team.
- Development, Review and Improvement of Maintenance Procedures.
- Lead troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls-related equipment.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support efforts to reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Partner with Engineering and Production on equipment improvements and reliability initiative
- Train maintenance teams on corrective actions implementation
- Backing up Technicians as needed
- Ensure maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Ensure maintenance compliance for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 programs
- Enforce Lockout/Tagout, PPE, machine safety, and other required safety procedures.
- Work Permits for Employees and Contractors
- Work closely with Production to prioritize equipment repairs and minimize downtime.
- Communicate equipment status, repair progress, and expected completion times.
- Support equipment installations, modifications, shutdowns, and startup activities.

Team Supervision and MotivationHiring, training and scheduling daily or weekly tasks for technicians through the plant
Predictive and Preventative MaintenanceAbility to build schedules that stop breakdowns before they halt production
Cross Departmental CoordinationPartnering with production and other departments to align repairs with output and quality goals
Troubleshooting and Critical ThinkingProblem Solving, Investigative and Decision Making skills, being able to gather facts and create action plans
Regulatory ComplianceKnowledge and adherence to strict industry and OSHA safety rules.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job will require the use of hand and power tools. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, kneel, and assume awkward positions as is dictated by worksite.
Must be able to work in varying temperatures up to 110 degrees and a dusty environment.
