Stokes Volkswagen is seeking Full‑Time Xpress/Lube Technicians to join our team. Competitive hourly rate depending on experience with room to grow and learn the trade. Previous experience a plus, but not required.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Parts and Service Manager, this position is primarily responsible for lubrication of moving parts of vehicles. Communication, accountability, attention to detail, accurate record keeping, and knowledge and compliance of federal, state and local regulations are required to perform the essential functions of this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide exceptional Customer Service interactions to all Customers as per Organization standard.
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory requirements.
  • Sells lubrication, safety inspection and other related services in accordance with dealership standards.
  • Maintains accurate records of customers, performing follow‑up correspondence by telephone, mail or other applicable personal reminders.
  • Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
  • Replaces oil and air filters.
  • Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as required by dealership guidelines.
  • Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
  • Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain all parts needed.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to Supervisor.
  • Documents all work performed on the repair order.
  • Participates in manufacturer‑sponsored training programs as assigned by Service Manager.
  • Maintains continued knowledge and education of current manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Maintains and is accountable for keeping designated areas neat and clean.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership‑owned tools and manuals. Returns and stores all tools the proper location in the same condition as they were received.
  • Understands, maintains continued knowledge, and complies with current federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal,
    OSHA Right‑to‑Know, etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment by their designated purpose, utilizing all required safety equipment as well as safe operations.
  • Reports any safety related concerns and/or issues to management immediately.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
    • In order to perform this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily and per Organization, Dealership and Manufacturer guidelines.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups or employees of the organization.
    • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide in 10 and 100 ratios. Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S. currency and weight measurement, volume and distance.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one‑ or two‑step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
