Janitorial Cleaner
BGIS is currently seeking a Janitorial Cleaner to join the team in Harwood, ND.

The Cleaner is responsible for cleaning tasks in designated areas of a building including dusting, dust mopping, vacuuming of carpets, cleaning washroom and kitchen fixtures, spot cleaning, and cleaning waste receptacles. The scope of work may vary depending on the nature and requirements of the assigned site. The Cleaner demonstrates BGIS values in meeting client expectations.
Cleaning of Buildings and Facilities
- Dust office furniture, baseboards, low air vents, and windowsills.
- Empty and clean waste baskets and receptacles; transport garbage to designated areas.
- Spot clean walls, partitions, doors, light switches, and partition glass
- Clean and polish chrome, metal surfaces, and wooden furniture/filing cabinets (at established frequencies)
- Clean and disinfect washroom and kitchen fixtures using Green Seal-certified products.
- Clean interior and exterior glass within reach
- Dust mop hard floor surfaces and vacuum all carpeted areas.
- Disinfect high-touch areas and office spaces (at established frequencies or as requested)
- Wash metal and painted wall surfaces as needed.
- Dust and damp-wipe office equipment upon request
- Lay down ice melt/salt as weather requires.
- Perform additional tasks and contribute to key initiatives as assigned.

- Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients and team members.
Knowledge & Skills
- No formal education or certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of commercial/industrial cleaning experience preferred.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exhibit reading and writing capabilities aligned with 7th-grade competency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and digital – chats, texts, emails) in English.
- Positive attitude toward Environment, Health & Safety practices
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (entry-level)
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering excellent service.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending, lifting, and carrying cleaning supplies/equipment.
- Comfortable working in various environments (offices, washrooms, outdoor entrances in winter conditions)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to walk job sites, including uneven terrain when necessary.
- Cognitive ability to maintain focus, follow processes, and respond quickly in a safety-sensitive environment.
