Maintenance Mechanic
The Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in keeping production equipment and facility systems running safely and efficiently. This position focuses on troubleshooting, cleaning, and maintaining machinery in accordance with manufacturer specifications, performing root-cause analysis on mechanical issues, and supporting engineering and external contractors to ensure reliable operation of CNC and related equipment.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, clean, and maintain production equipment in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
- Perform root-cause analysis on mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatic systems, conveyors, blending, scaling, filling, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose issues with CNC machines and other production equipment and communicate findings clearly to engineering and external contractors.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical assemblies to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Maintain cleanliness of machines and general upkeep of the building, including bathrooms, conference rooms, offices, and other common areas.
- Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment layouts to support maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Troubleshoot electrical wiring, relay logic, control circuits, and safety circuits, and report issues requiring external repair.
- Perform basic diagnostic and troubleshooting work on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems while coordinating repair work with outside contractors.
- Work closely with the engineering team, CNC setup operators, programmers, and other technical staff to resolve mechanical and control-related problems.
- Support PLC maintenance activities by identifying issues and collaborating with engineering or contractors for resolution.
- Prioritize workload effectively and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional communication about technical problems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility standards and safety practices.
- Proven experience performing maintenance and repair on CNC machines and related production equipment.
- Strong background in machine maintenance, including troubleshooting and diagnosis of mechanical issues.
- Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance and mechanical assembly work.
- Ability to interpret and work from electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment layouts.
- Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and basic diagnostics.
- Familiarity with PLC maintenance concepts and the ability to collaborate with engineering on control-related issues.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical wiring, relay logic, control circuits, and safety circuits.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with engineering teams, CNC setup operators, and programmers.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for motors, conveyors, blending, scaling, and filling systems.
- Capability to perform basic diagnostic work while coordinating full repairs through outside contractors.
- Ability to prioritize workload and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and safety.

- Experience maintaining facility cleanliness and general building upkeep, including offices and common areas.
- Comfort discussing technical problems with engineering and manufacturing leadership in a clear and professional manner.
- Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with colleagues and members of the public.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain clean machines and a well-kept facility.
- Specific vision abilities suitable for close work on machinery, schematics, and detailed components.
- Willingness to coordinate and oversee work performed by outside contractors for complex repairs.
