The Fixture Warehouse Workflow Specialist role at Ocean State Job Lot ("OSJL" and "Company") is responsible for performing a range of duties to meet the needs of new and remodeled stores throughout the OSJL chain. This position assists with the entire lifecycle of retail store fixtures, from inbound receipt to outbound distribution, and ensures that fixtures are delivered to stores timely and accurately.
Hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Key Responsibilities- Receive merchandise into the Warehouse Management System using a radio frequency ("RF") scanner in a manner that meets established standards in safety, quality, and productivity.
- Unload trailers and containers using powered equipment. Ensure that items are inspected for damage and verified against worksheets, with any discrepancies noted.
- Responsible for all Stacker functions including, but not limited to, put-a-ways, replenishment, pull combine, transfers, consolidations, full pallet pulls, stacking T‑Racks, splitting and moving cases, and order picking.
- Timely and accurately complete all necessary records, reports, and logs including, but not limited to, daily productivity sheets.
- Prepare fixtures for shipping to stores. Properly build shippable pallets of merchandise, transport pallets to shipping and wrap machines, and load fixtures onto trucks for shipment to the store.
- Maintain a neat, orderly and clean work area to meet or exceed area safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Support the set up of the work area and equipment for daily operation. Ensure that adequate supply levels are maintained.
- Resolve warehouse management system (WMS) issues, escalating to the manager as needed.
- Perform all recovery, shipping, picking and special projects functions in an accurate, productive, and safe manner.
- Accurately label and date merchandise with identification number, packing slip information, and category number.
- Prepare orders as directed in accurate quantities.
- Inspect equipment on a daily basis to ensure it is in proper condition.
- Work in compliance with Company-established standard operating procedures and OSHA requirements. Adhere to established standards of productivity, cleanliness, quality and accuracy.
- A high school degree or equivalent is required.
- Previous material handling equipment in a warehouse facility or similar experience is preferred.
- Excellent decision making and communication skills are required.
- English speaking, reading, and comprehension skills are required; bilingual in Spanish is preferred. Written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Above average knowledge of the WMS and labeling software to help troubleshoot.
- Proficient in Google platform (i.e., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).
- Basic math and English reading skills, legible handwriting, and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Licensed on the operation of various electric pallet jacks, forklift, stockpicker scissor lifts, and walkie stackers, or have the ability to obtain licensing within the first 90 days of employment through Company-provided training.
- Ability to use fine motor skills to operate power tools.
- Successful completion of the Powered Equipment Training, Stacking Area Training Program and the associate proficiency test.
