Internal Notice for Teamster Team Members:
This posting will create a non-probationary internal Teamster eligibility list and fill 1 vacancy for this classification. The current vacancy is in the Public Works Traffic Operations department. The internal Teamster eligibility list will be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification, for up to one hundred and eighty (180) days. Non-probationary Teamster team members successfully completing the selection process will be placed on the internal Teamster eligibility list.
All other team members including part-time/temporary employees along with external candidates may apply for this recruitment. These individuals may be considered after the appropriate recruitment process of the collective bargaining agreement has been followed. If the vacancy is not filled through promotion by a full-time non-probationary Teamster team members, the next opportunity for placement will be to hire qualified part-time/temporary employees and external candidates.

Essential Information

- Pay Considerations –starting hourly pay for this position is $27.60. Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience. The selected candidate for this position will start at the beginning of the salary range, no exceptions. Existing employees will receive increases as outlined by their bargaining agreement.
- Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day, (36-hour work week) Monday through Thursday, 5:30am to 3:00pm.
- Environment – Very Heavy Work:
Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to lift a minimum of 75
* pounds unassisted.
The Role Performs maintenance on street lights and traffic control devices. Assists in performing difficult, complex, large maintenance projects. Routine tasks may be performed independently. New or unusual tasks or assignments with special requirements are explained before beginning and work is checked during and after completion.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent,
- Two (2) years progressively responsible experience performing electrical construction and/or maintenance work. Street lighting and traffic signals experience is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Level I Signs & Markings and IMSA Work Zone Safety within six (6) months of hire/reclassification.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver's license.
