Janitor, Maintenance​/Cleaning, Cleaning Services

Janitor will work 10 hours per week, with additional hours for on call.

Primary Duties: 10 hours per week with possible additional on call hours. The Janitor cleans and maintains factory working areas, washrooms, offices, commercial or other establishments. Duties involve a combination of the following: sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services;

and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms.

• Maintains building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls, ceilings, and woodwork; sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors; cleaning and vacuuming drapes, furniture, and carpeting including carpet scrubbing; resupplying rest rooms; replacing light bulbs.
• Maintains building accessibility and appearance by picking up papers and trash; replacing light bulbs.
• Removes trash by emptying trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area; collecting recycling materials.
• Keeps cleaning equipment operational by following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines; completing operator repairs and parts replacement.
• Maintains parts and equipment inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed parts; anticipating cleaning equipment replacement; placing orders.

• Maintains safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
• At least one (1) year custodial experience preferred.

• Ability to understand and follow direction.
• Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them.
• Must have good oral/verbal communication skills.
