Lead Internal Auditor

Job Summary

This role will supervise the planning, execution, and reporting of Operational audits for a $6billion-dollar global company. The position is responsible for the coordination of Internal Audit activities at various plants, distribution facilities, vendors, contractors and the Corporate office.

• Under the overall guidance of the Manager, Internal Audit, ensure compliance with GAAP and CF Industries accounting policies and procedures.
• Supervise Senior Auditors and Staff Auditors in planning moderate to complex audit engagements, including setting scope, procedures, and reviewing work.
• Review the relevance, reliability, and integrity of financial and operating information and the methods used to identify, measure, classify, and report such information.
• Lead the team in recommending improvements in procedures, systems, and operational efficiency.
• Prepare written documents for auditees that summarize audit findings.
• Work with Management to develop action plans addressing audit findings.
• Review operations and programs to ensure results align with objectives and are executed as planned.
• Assess systems to ensure compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws, and regulations.
• Partner with external auditors to reconcile discrepancies or support the external auditing function.
• Lead the follow‑up evaluation and investigation of unusual patterns or trends identified through Data Analytics procedures.
• Provide Subject‑Matter Expertise to business partners in risk and control as requested.
• Lead kick‑off, update, and closing meetings on assigned audits.
• Ensure audits are completed within agreed timelines in accordance with department methodology.
• Direct and develop audit teams, administer and monitor audit plans, review work assignments, and identify staff development needs.
• Perform audit testing and document results and conclusions in the Internal Audit software tool.
• Coach and provide feedback to seniors, staff and co‑source partners on audit results and conclusions.
• Ensure best practices and remediation action plans identified through the audit process are implemented company‑wide.
• Lead ad hoc appraisals, inspections, investigations, examinations or reviews at the request of the Manager or VP, Internal Audit.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in internal audit, public accounting, or equivalent.
• Certification or advanced degree required: CPA, MBA, CISA, CIA.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to present audit results effectively to directors, general managers and officers.
• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills to evaluate operational risks and controls.
• Knowledge and proficiency in Data Analytics highly desirable.
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
• Reasonable proficiency with PC and related software.

• Estimated base pay: $99,500 – $139,900.
