Job SummaryThe Accounting Supervisor coordinates and reviews accounting activities for Shared Services and Accounts Receivable, while training, developing, and appraising staff to maintain a high level of work efficiency, competency, and flexibility.
Job DescriptionMajor Responsibilities
- Matrix Responsibilities
:
Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and process oversight for the Accounts Receivable function of Shared Services. Direct individuals regarding their roles and responsibilities to meet overall company objectives and understand the department’s role in corporate goals. Promote appropriate levels of responsibility and authority for staff development and decision making. Maintain the highest level of integrity and trust by staying informed on current information and technology and ensuring compliance with FASB and AICPA guidelines where relevant.
Foster cross-department collaboration within CF and encourage matrix involvement. - Provide regular formal and informal performance feedback, identify training needs, and develop plans to meet those needs. Communicate departmental objectives and review work assignments.
- Accounts Receivable
:
Oversee global accounts receivable functions including daily cash receipts applications, cash and subledger reconciliation, bad debt reserves, customer refunds, and customer account reconciliations. Meet with Sales, Accounting, Credit, and other groups to discuss reconciliations and planning of periodic reporting. Assist users in developing queries for receivables. Participate in testing and implementation of new systems and platforms. Provide reports and support for special requests, nonrecurring items, and audits;
participate in projects as required. - Financial Close
:
Oversee the preparation, review, and issuance of monthly account analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, and other close tasks for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end. Lead financial close activities for Shared Services in coordination with the Controllers Group (AR, AP, Payroll, Master Data, Travel & Expense). Provide reports for special requests and audit needs; oversee third-party reporting packages with analytics and KPI dashboards. - Internal Controls
:
Establish and implement processes to meet internal control requirements; ensure procedures are followed. Collaborate with Policy, Process and Controls Team to identify deficiencies and determine the need for new controls; implement corrective actions. Oversee third-party internal control and SOX compliance documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- Five or more years of general accounting experience with knowledge of accounting software systems.
- CPA preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office (Outlook, Excel with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, Word).
- SAP (S/4
Hana or ECC) preferred;
Oracle experience a plus. - Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to proactively identify and develop effective solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to work with employees at all levels.
The estimated base pay for the position is typically between $84,500 - $111,500. The actual base pay may be influenced by education, training, skills, qualifications, and experience and could be outside the posted range.
