Overview
Covenant Living is seeking a Receptionist. This position is accountable for greeting residents, staff, and visitors in person or on the telephone, in a manner that promotes Covenant Living in a positive, professional way.
Responsibilities- Answer all telephone calls promptly in a polite, personal, and friendly manner. Transfer calls appropriately. Take messages when the resident or staff member is not available.
- Monitor emergency system, direct staff to emergent situations, call emergency personnel as appropriate, and complete resident checks as required by desk policy.
- Provide information to visitors and direct them to the appropriate individual who can assist, ensuring visitors/contractors sign in and wear badges according to policy and procedure.
- Keep the reception desk and lobby clean and organized after each shift.
- Facilitate transportation requests to appropriate staff, coordinate timing of transportation, and place courtesy calls to residents to remind them of trips.
- Assist residents in signing up for programs and activities and collect payments as needed.
- Be knowledgeable about office equipment and demonstrate use to other staff; monitor equipment and report supply needs and issues to Lead Receptionist.
- Sell postage stamps, receive and sort packages, log packages, and inform residents/staff of items to pick up.
- Facilitate maintenance requests, enter requests into the system, and communicate urgent or emergent situations to appropriate staff.
- Complete monthly charge sheets in accordance with procedure.
- Support other departments in clerical duties as assigned by the Administrative Services Coordinator.
- Support the Lead Receptionist in clerical duties and maintenance of the reception area.
- Balance cash drawer and cash receipts and checks processed at the desk.
- High school education or equivalent.
- One year of secretarial training or clerical experience.
- Highly organized, detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and written English communication skills.
- Pleasant personality and telephone voice.
- Ability to remain calm in an emergency situation.
- Complete confidentiality when circulating general information.
- Knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Interest in and desire to work with older adults.
Compensation Pay Range: $16.06 - $20.88 per hour.
