Position Summary

We are recruiting school assistants to provide student supervision during elementary (K-5) lunch and recess periods at both Wescott and Willowbrook Schools. The school assistant works as a teammate to the food service program, building custodian, fellow student supervisors, and the front office. Work hours are 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on all student attendance days.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher
• Experience working with children preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain a calm and positive demeanor in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to interact positively and build rapport with elementary school children
• Flexibility to handle changing situations and unexpected events
• Keen observation skills to monitor multiple students simultaneously and identify potential safety hazards
• Ability to remain on feet for extended periods and move quickly when necessary to ensure student safety
• Other qualifications of academic, professional, and personal excellence, as the Board may specify
