Position: 5th Grade Reading Long-Term Sub(6 Months)
Duties

District 27 is searching for an enthusiastic, child-centered educator to fill a six-month long-term substitute position in 5th grade reading. Northbrook School District 27 is a professional learning community made up of approximately 1300 students across three schools, educating students to succeed in a changing world. This position will start at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year and will extend through mid-February 2026.

Shabonee School is set up as a teaching partnership, so this position would have a teaching partner who teaches one group of students math, science, and social studies, while they are teaching reading and language arts. Then the two groups switch mid-day.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess a valid IL PEL with an endorsement in elementary education. Preferred candidates will have at least two years of prior classroom experience.

Salary/Benefits

Long-term substitute teachers in District 27 earn $330 per day. There are no benefits offered for this position.
