Senior Financial Analyst
Contract Duration: 7 months, possibility for extension
Work Arrangement: Remote - IL
Pay: $45-50/hr
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in driving financial insight and decision support across the business. This individual independently leads financial analysis, communicates results clearly to stakeholders, and proactively identifies risks and opportunities. With minimal guidance, the analyst partners closely with business leaders to support strategic objectives, influence decisions, and recommend solutions based on financial and operational trends.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to business leaders, including acting as the primary finance point of contact in the absence of senior leadership
- Partner with cross-functional teams in a consultative manner to support forecasting, planning, performance measurement, business case development, capital management, and internal controls
- Develop and communicate clear, compelling narratives and forward-looking insights that help leaders understand performance, risks, opportunities, and future impacts (with limited reliance on raw numbers)
- Prepare and manage strategic and operating plans for assigned business areas, using forecast updates to inform and influence management decisions
- Lead and support multi-disciplinary project teams as the financial subject matter expert
- Guide and support team members to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, including conflict resolution, process and system improvements, and resource coordination
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment that encourages high performance and continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- 7+ years of relevant financial analysis or corporate finance experience (preferred)
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of formal degree requirements
- Advanced knowledge of corporate finance principles and practices
- Strong depth and breadth of financial and analytical expertise
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and general audit procedures
- Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, and expense budgeting
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships as a finance partner and business consultant
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to recommend corrective actions based on emerging trends
- Independent thinker with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve results beyond expectations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing initiatives in an ambiguous environment
- Effective communicator across multiple levels and communication channels
- Demonstrated experience in talent development and people leadership
