DescriptionConsumers Credit Union is recruiting for a Senior Branch Specialist (Personal Banker) at our Northbrook branch. As a Senior Branch Specialist, you’ll develop relationships with our members, become their financial expert, and educate them about products/services that will make a positive impact in their lives.
What you’ll do in this role:
As a Senior Branch Specialist, you’ll develop relationships with our members, become their financial expert, open specialized accounts and educate them about products/services that will make a positive impact in their lives. This position is a combination of being a Personal Banker with some Teller responsibilities. It offers a variety of work throughout the day, involves sales goals and is perfect for those that enjoy exceeding goals and earning extra incentives!
Responsibilities- Identifying financial products/services that will benefit our members, and guide them toward those that are in their best interest. Overcoming objections and delivering service‑minded sales.
- Processing a wide array of requests for specialized and/or complex accounts and consumer loan applications for members.
- Being a team player who wears multiple hats: greeting members and directing them to the appropriate specialist, answering calls for assistance.
- Ensuring policies, procedures, compliance, audits, quality control, and balancing standards are adhered to.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of similar work experience in retail, customer service, guest relations, sales, cash handling, or a financial institution (Teller, Personal Banker preferred).
- Comfortable promoting products and services, educating members, and engaging in sales‑oriented conversations.
- Computer proficient in data processing platforms, email, internet/intranet, instant messaging, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, work at a fast pace, and stay organized.
- Propensity to be helpful, positive, act with integrity, and embrace inclusion & diversity.
- Availability to work 40+ hours per week, scheduled across:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Regular Saturdays: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM
The salary range for this role is $18.34 – $27.51 per hour and is eligible for sales incentives. Compensation is determined based on skill set, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs.
