Position Summary
Service Desk Specialist based at the corporate headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois, supporting 750+ staff throughout the US and internationally in both office and field settings.
Typical Functions- Technical Support – Deliver timely end‑user support, document and track incidents, troubleshoot hardware and software including desktops, laptops, printers, phone systems, and peripherals, and escalated complex issues to senior IT staff.
- User and System Administration – Deploy and refresh hardware/software, manage patching and imaging, administer Microsoft Office 365, network devices, and cloud services, and assist with Email, SCCM, Intune, Mimecast and related infrastructure.
- Documentation and Training – Create and update user guides and knowledge base articles, and provide basic device functionality training.
- Security and Compliance – Enforce security policies, participate in audits and testing, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of service desk experience.
- Basic understanding of networking, Windows, macOS, Android, and hardware components.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication and customer service skills.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Desktop are a plus.
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to research networking issues.
- Customer‑service orientation, self‑motivation, and attention to detail.
- Analytical problem‑solving and task prioritization in high‑pressure environments.
- Team‑oriented and collaborative mindset.
WJE offers a robust total compensation structure with an hourly rate range of $28.65 – $42.98 (gross). The role is non‑exempt and may include overtime and variable compensation. Benefits include health plans (HSA, PPO), a 401(k) with 110% matching for the first 6% of eligible pay, generous paid time off, and educational assistance.
