A highly regarded 12-attorney law firm in Northbrook is expanding its sophisticated Trusts & Estates practice. The firm represents high-net-worth individuals and families in complex estate planning and administration matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior associate who wants meaningful client contact, hands-on responsibility, and direct mentorship from experienced practitioners in a collaborative, high-functioning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage trust and estate administration matters from intake through final distribution
• Oversee asset marshaling, valuation, creditor claims, and beneficiary distributions
• Draft comprehensive estate planning documents, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and advanced planning vehicles
• Prepare federal and state estate and gift tax returns
• Advise clients on tax minimization strategies, wealth transfer planning, asset protection, and multigenerational planning
• Represent clients in probate proceedings and court appearances

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• 1–3 years of substantive Trusts & Estates experience
• Experience with estate planning, drafting, and trust/estate administration
• Exposure to federal and state estate and gift tax return preparation preferred
• Strong analytical, drafting, and client communication skills
• Illinois bar admission required

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $90,000 – $140,000, commensurate with experience
