Branch Manager – Retail Banking Sales & Service

Job Responsibilities

Guides, directs, and coaches employees to deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Understands the needs of customers to provide sales and service in their best interests, advising them on products and strategies that meet their financial objectives. Identifies and makes referrals to other business groups. Supports sales and customer service activities to meet strategic customer experience and profitability goals in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and the Bank’s policies and processes.

Acts as an originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act. Conducts sales calls, establishes a personal referral network, performs cold calls, and maintains a community network to enhance the Bank’s visibility and build referral sources. Resolves customer-related issues using knowledge of bank services, products, and processes.

Builds and executes a branch business plan to maximize growth and wallet share, achieve customer retention and acquisition objectives, and manage operational expenses in accordance with forecasts. Provides technical training and support, implements new programs, coordinates national and regional sales and service initiatives, and monitors performance against plans. Leads teams, communicates goals, and promotes a culture aligned with BMO purpose and values, fostering diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

Typically between 4‑6 years of relevant experience with a post‑secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination. Preferred supervisory or management experience. In‑depth knowledge of retail banking products, services, competitive marketplace trends, branch operational processes, technologies, performance metrics, and applicable regulations, audit standards, and policies. Technical proficiency from education or business experience. Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, analytical and problem‑solving, influence, and data‑driven decision‑making skills.

Compensation

and Benefits

Salary: $57,500.00 – $ per year, paid salaried with potential commission structure. Health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans. Additional performance‑based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other perks.
