Transform a high-velocity metals warehouse into a benchmark for operational excellence

In this role, you’ll orchestrate production and warehouse operations with a mandate for safety, continuous improvement, impeccable quality, customer fulfillment, and cost discipline. Just as important, you’ll foster an environment where people feel safe, supported, and motivated to grow—fueling strong morale and performance.

Imagine This Scenario

A rush order drops. You’ve already published up-to-date equipment lead-times, so Sales knows what’s realistic. You and Production Planning adjust the schedule, verify equipment availability and inspections, and clear potential bottlenecks. The team pulls inventory with exact heat lot traceability, packages to spec for damage-free delivery, and ships on time. Meanwhile, your KPI board shows daily metrics trending up, thanks to Lean/5S and CI projects you launched with the CI Manager.

That’s a day done right.

Core Accountabilities Leadership & Development Provide effective leadership to direct and indirect reports to build an efficient, cost-effective, safe, and enjoyable workplace.

Hire and conduct performance reviews in partnership with HR.Set quantitative goals aligned with Operations, UPM, and ONI Key Strategic Objectives.

Run annual reviews and implement development/training plans; coach for unacceptable performance, behavior, and long-term career growth.

Safety, Health & Environmental Compliance Build a culture of safety awareness with total accountability at every level; ensure a safe, accident-free environment and consistent PPE use for employees and visitors.

Complete monthly safety inspections on time and resolve unsafe conditions promptly; drive full participation in all safety training and meetings.

Own OSHA and EPA compliance across warehouse operations.

Continuous Improvement & 5SWith the CI Manager, create and sustain a Continuous Improvement culture.

Implement housekeeping standards and maintain both interior and exterior areas to a high standard throughout each day.

Embed 5S/Lean concepts to maximize productivity and efficiency.

Operations, Metrics & Scheduling Execute daily production/shipment schedules efficiently and to customer requirements.

Track KPI/Metrics daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually; implement actions to close gaps.

Maintain processes to stock/replenish operational and safety supplies.

Collaborate tightly with Sales and Production Planning; maintain and publish equipment lead-times daily for accurate customer commitments.

Maximize equipment utilization; ensure preventative maintenance and inspections are completed on time; proactively identify capacity constraints and bottlenecks.

Inventory & Cost Control Ensure daily cycle counts are completed; protect inventory accuracy for heat lot traceability, quantities, and locations; maintain overall inventory integrity.

Control scrap with accurate tracking and adherence to the scrap disposition policy.

Develop and track cost savings/avoidance projects that drive year-over-year reductions in operational expenses.

Quality & Compliance Culture Support and enforce all ISO requirements.

Ensure every product/shipment is packaged appropriately for damage-free delivery and in accordance with customer specifications.

Uphold the company Quality Policy, Ethics Guidelines, Safety and Environmental Policies, and all business procedures.

Deliver 100% compliance to internal and customer quality requirements, including specification and dimensional conformity, heat code traceability, export compliance, and packaging.

Maintain a workplace consistent with the UPM and ONI Code of Conduct and Ethics policy; contribute actively to company goals for safety, security, policy/procedure compliance, OSHA/EPA compliance, and a Housekeeping 5S/Lean culture.

Qualifications Associate degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience.

Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification required (or a defined path to obtain it).At least 5 years of proven leadership experience.

At least 5 years in manufacturing, distribution, and/or warehouse environments.
